The Ketogenic Diet and Weight Loss Plateaus
ketogenic plan November 29th. 2020, 9:26pm
The dreaded weight loss plateau. No matter what diet you are on, your weight loss will eventually stop. The goal is for the progress to stop as soon as we hit our ideal weight, but this often does not happen as planned.
Most of us will experience a weight loss plateau at one point or another during our diet. When this happens it is not because you failed or because your body is broken — it is most likely because you need to switch up your dietary approach just a bit.

I've been doing keto for 10 months. I have lost 60lbs but have been stuck at 60lbs for like 3 months now. I'm getting frustrated. I started taking fish oil a couple weeks ago hoping that would help. I've been eating the right amount of calories fat carbs and protein. However I sometimes am still hungry so I might go over a little. Im getting discouraged. Can anyone help?

I lost 11 lbs my first week of keto. I haven't lost but 2 lbs since. I need help. It's only been a month since a started. Would this be considered a plateau or is it too early, just keep going?

I just did your keto calculator to find out my macros.
It’s telling me to eat 9061 calories a day , 967g fats daily??
I’m 5’0 tall female 51 yrs old
I know this is definitely not the right amount of calories, please fix
this keto calculator, otherwise it’s going to do a lot of harm to people with less
experience than me.

What if I'm already intermittent fasting 12-8, I'm 6'2" 285 I'm at 1800 calories, my protein is around 110 fats 140. I've lost around 20lbs but now 2 weeks no weight loss. I sleep 8 hours no stress. The exercise is my only issue. Most gyms are closed and I don't live in a ok to walk around neighborhood. Can anyone give me advice or pointers. I don't do processed all home cooked, except the cheese of course. I test daily and my ketones are high to moderate every day.

I think have figured out why I was not seeing results on Keto! I was only focusing on "counting carbs" and not the type of things I was eating. Beware of "Keto treats" if you want to lose weight! I started out doing Keto by just counting carbs which included lots of keto treats like candied pecans (all treats made with stevia), peanut butter fudge, whipped cream and nuts, etc. Not only did this NOT give me any weight loss but it prolonged the Keto "Flu" for FIVE WEEKS! I was in agony by the end of the five weeks and my hunger never went away! So I stopped eating nuts, "keto treats" and "fat bombs" and only ate keto meals when hungry. Within 2 more weeks my appetite was gone, most of my energy back and even some health issues improved such as insomnia, overactive bladder at night and aching calves at night. I am not weighing myself yet but I look a bit sleeker in the mirror now. I plan to weigh myself when my size 14 "skinny" jeans become looser. Until then I will avoid the scale because I will get discouraged when I see "the Number"……Bottom line: If you are not losing weight on Keto and/or if you are still feeling lethargic after weeks of doing keto: ELIMINATE ALL "KETO TREATS" and only eat the food your body needs! This seems to be the reason why my husband who is doing Keto with me has dropped 25 or so pounds in the 6 weeks we have been doing Keto whereas I have lost very litte. He did not like the taste of the stevia sweetened "keto treats" and only ate a few nuts here and there, whereas I was mindlessly using these things as a "crutch" to replace my sugar addiction! Maybe the keto treats can be moderately eaten after the iniitial phase or induction period but STAY AWAY in the beginning! It will just confuse your body and keep you in the SAD (standard american diet) state of misery. I hope this helps someone out there…….: )

Hey once you reach your weight goal how do you get off keto without gaining all the weight back?
November 30th, 2020 at 5:56 am
Would you say it's ok to do intermittent fasting one week out of the month to keep myself from plateauing?

If my weight loss is at stall, possibility is that am insulin resistant. Therefore body is not on a fat burning stage. If no fat loss and still eating high fat meals, should I be concerned of high cholesterol build-up should weight stall stays longer in a month?

FINALLY!! A keto calculator that does not reduce protein intake when calculating a calorie reduction. Protein macro is based on lean body mass and should not change when calculating a calorie deficit. Reduction should only come from fat. Great job, I'm a subscriber now.
