Hi everyone, welcome to this weeks meal prep video.

In this video, Iโ€™m going to be showing you exactly how to plan out a weekโ€™s worth of food, that can be prepped in under an hour and a half, to ensure your food is fresh, delicious and best of all easy to make.

This whole video is accompanied by a free printable guide which contains the exact amounts of each ingredient youโ€™ll need depending on your gender and goals. It contains prep day action plans and substitutions for dairy, nuts and other allergies, so donโ€™t worry too much about the exact amounts showcased in this video, as this will likely change for you.

Instead of preparing a full 7 daysโ€™ worth of meals, I recommend setting aside two nights for meal prep. This is usually Sunday and Thursday, but it can be any day of the week you like, as long as they are approximately 4 days apart.

For the first meal prep, youโ€™ll need the following:

Beef Mince
Chicken Thighs
Yogurt
Eggs
Spinach
Dry Coleslaw

These are the main ingredients youโ€™ll need. The other ingredients Iโ€™ll explain as we go throughout the video.

12 containers, preferably glass as this will avoid anything from the containers seeping into your food, plus glass reheats more evenly, and wonโ€™t leave any taste or smell residue.

A frying pan and stove top.

A chopping board and knife

And a pair of fresh, clean hands.

Optional (Food processor), but you can easily buy riced cauliflower to skip this step.

Keep all these in the fridge and reheat the burrito bowl and crack slaw as needed.

For breakfast youโ€™ll be enjoying a creamy fruit and yogurt bowl with coconut flakes, lunch and dinner are a choice between either sesame beef coleslaw or chicken burrito bowls, followed by super easy spinach and egg omelette, with similar choices for lunch and dinner.

If youโ€™re intermittent fasting, simply each lunch as usual, and keep breakfast for a delicious snack during your eating window.

Optional supplements I would also add would be Omega 3โ€™s, magnesium and vitamin D, or stand in the sun for 20 minutes.

If you are worried you are unable to eat any ingredients within the meal plan here are some common substitutions:

Substitute any of the proteins for a protein you can eat. These are interchangeable and wonโ€™t affect the macros dramatically.

Sub any dairy with a coconut alternative, for example Greek yogurt for coconut yogurt.

Inside the prep guide, youโ€™ll find what amounts youโ€™ll need to prepare for the second prep night, to ensure your food is fresh and well kept.

In this video, we’re going to cover the keto diet plan for beginners.

What is a ketone?ย 
A ketone is not a fat, carbohydrate, or protein. It has characteristics of both a fat and a carbohydrate, but it’s not either. Ketones come from fat, and they are an alternative fuel source. You get ketones by lowering the carbohydrates in your diet, or by reducing your frequency of eating.ย 

That’s why I recommend a low carb diet (ketogenic diet) with intermittent fasting. That way, you can maximize your ability to make ketones.ย 

Benefits of ketones:

โ€ข Increases oxygen in the body
โ€ข Increases energy
โ€ข Supports the brainย 
โ€ข Supports the heartย 

Most of the body tissues can run on ketones, but some parts need glucose. However, you still don’t need to consume glucose. Your body can make glucose when it needs to through something called gluconeogenesis.ย 

It takes time to start turning fat into ketones. The time it takes depends on how damaged your pancreas is.ย 

How to get into ketosis:ย 

โ€ข Lower your carbs
โ€ข Lower your frequency of eating

Why should you do ketosis?

โ€ข To lower insulin

High insulin levels cause insulin resistance.ย 

Insulin resistance in behind:

โ€ข Pre-diabetes
โ€ข Diabetes
โ€ข Metabolic syndrome
โ€ข High blood pressure
โ€ข Fat in the gut area

More benefits of keto and intermittent fasting:

โ€ข Reduce fat in the liver
โ€ข Improve cognitive performanceย 
โ€ข Improve mood
โ€ข Decrease blood pressure
โ€ข Decrease inflammationย 
โ€ข Improve energy

โ€ข Autophagyย 

* Your hunger goes away with the keto diet and intermittent fasting.ย 

* Keto and intermittent fasting work best when combined.ย 

* I recommend healthy keto over dirty keto.ย 

* Don’t eat unless you’re hungry. With healthy keto, you will be full and satisfied.ย 

* Autophagy starts after about 18 hours of fasting.

* When fasting drink fluids, take electrolytes and B vitamins, and take sea salt.ย

The ketogentic diet is the latest fad diet. In this video men’s style, grooming, fitness and lifestyle expert, Aaron Marino of IAmAlphaM, AaronMarino, and Pete & Pedro says that the lifecycle of the fad diet is that it goes away and comes back with a cooler name. None of these diets are new; however, Alpha’s going over the ketogenic diet.

How the Keto Diet Works
The body, including your brain, needs glucose to function. The glucose comes from carbs. But wthout glucose, your body will use ketones instead of carbs. The ketogenic diet takes your body into the state of ketosis where your body burns fats for energy. The object of the diet is to force your body to get into and stay in a glycogen deprived state and maintain a mild state of ketosis. You find out if you’re in ketosis by urinating on a keto-stick. The Up and Down Sides
The keto diet has no starches. The upside is that fat falls off, and you can eat as much fat as you want. It’s all about fat. Some claim that they think clearer and that cancer can’t thrive and grow in the absence of glucose. The downside is the keto-flu when starting the diet. Another downside is low energy levels – your body needs carbohydrates. Without carbs, you have a zero chance of gaining muscle because you need glucose and glycogen.

Educate Yourself
It’s crazy how little people know about what they’re consuming and why their body needs certain things. People need to educate themselves about what is important for your body. These keto diet on a budget recipes are honestly some of my fav keto diet recipes I have made, the Moroccan chicken stew is a flavor bomb, and low carb, and the golden turmeric rice is magical, it’s one heck of a creative low carb keto meal plan dish.
